Limited Time for New Yorkers to Weigh in on their Energy Future

Two reports were released this week, which both launched distinct public commentary periods. On Wednesday, September 7th, simultaneously to the largest natural gas protest in the United States as of yet, which occurred in Philadelphia, the New York DEC (Department of Environmental Conservation) released its complete revised draft 2011 SGEIS (Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement) on hydrofracking for natural gas. Two days later, on September 9th, the FERC (Federal Energy Regulation Commission) released its final draft EIS for the New York – New Jersey Expansion Project, or the NJ-NY Project. Limited time for New Yorker’s to weigh in on energy – New York Environmental News | Examiner.com
